Guys,
I've just got to the country and currently going through all the transferring quals across from UK to here (money grabbing gits!), but I thought I'd tell you about this.
I'm a Chief Instructor with the UKKA (United Kingdom Kettlebell Association) which is currently going through a revival. The website is getting re-vamped and we are going to run more courses and workshops. We are international now with instructors here, USA, UK, Malta, Middle East and more are coming on line all the time. We will also be in the next issue (if it works the same over here!) of Mens Fitness. We have a group page on facebook which is global and has some great training challenges, rants and other info on it.
I'll tell you now though, we DO NOT train people in multi-rep/kettlebell competition stuff (loads of partial reps over long periods of time). We train people to safely and effectively lift kettlebells so that their technique will allow them to go heavy and place demands on the body which will enable it to grow and get stronger.
We also run Olympic Lifting coaching and about to start with Indian Clubs. We have some of the safest 'Bells on the market along with a highly detailed book called the Kettlebell Bible (have a look on Amazon).
In the UK we have a government backed organisation called REPs (Register of Exercise Professionals). To stay on the register you need to qualify each year, which requires that you get 16 points. The Foundation and Senior Courses give you these points. We also now have Practitioner courses (which I'll be instructing to the Commando's next week down in Liverpool) and Advance courses which range from 8 'basic' moves up to plyometrics, ballistic KB training and Instructional technique.
If your interested give me a shout.
Scotty
